…The Ghana Armed Forces has denied media reports that it has assigned men to protect President John Mahama’s brother, Ibrahim Mahama.

Media reports have suggested that soldiers have been detailed to guard the President’s brother after pictures of him in the company of soldiers while on a health walk emerged on social media.

But in a statement to clarify the matter, the Armed Forces Command condemned the act and assured that the necessary action is being taking to address the issue.

“The Military High command has taken a serious exception of the bad conduct in respect of soldiers who participated in a health walk and were alleged to have been providing close protection to Mr. Ibrahim Mahama.

“The Military High Command wish to state that it has not assigned any soldier as body guard to Mr. Ibrahim Mahama. The soldiers in question were assigned as part of the security detail at the flagstaff House,” the statement signed by Director Public Affairs Colonel Aggrey-Quashie noted…..

I believe most of the other 11 cases would end similarly. Then should the EC decide to appeal against any of the rulings, we would be looking back at the election time table which the Chief Justice had promised would never be affected! We are in for a rude shock! If only Charlotte had been a little circumspect and not allowed the position to swell her little head, we would not be here! We are all watching the drama!

Electoral Commissioner chairperson would have not had her position if she never corrected her failed Maths and English in her exams.
EC is to make sure things are correct before and after elections. EC can not and should not be able to disqualify anyone. When mistakes are made is not anything new. We have EC who duty is to look for mistakes and make sure they are corrected before the voting day.
It is a shame to EC and its post mongers. Lawyer in EC are there to correct not to disqualify people.

All these npp judges must be retired from the bench. They are a disgrace to the rule of law in Ghana. Their conscience are tribal and npp oriented.

These are the same elements that stay out and constantly accuse government of incompetence; for only ec forms nduom and co can't fill it correctly and have to resort tothe courts, how can we trust the governance of the entire nation to such elements

In all democratic countries, the law reigns supreme. I'm glad the stupid decision to disqualify electoral candidates by the EC has been quashed by the high courts. It was a stupid decision and set a dangerous precedent, too. Glad it has been overturned.

Now he has to face double endorsements of the Central and Volta regions disqualification. The EC decision still stand on that. The court did not remove the disqualification on that so Nduom should hold his horses.
