The work of soldiers is strenuous and requires strength and youthfulness which is why those no longer to cope up physically are bonded out.why keep soldiers in the Army when they can no longer carry out their functions? NPP stop stop this your unwarranted pronouncements and consult first to see what is needed.

We need that oh JM can do that too and it must be now. Some retired soldiers wish to come back also. Do it for the officers too. I'm enjoying the competition of who can serve us best. God bless our homeland Ghana

Mr Nitiwu, I have not bothered to read your article fully because the heading alone strikes me that it is written to gain political advantage without thinking about the future of Ghana. In my view the way forward for Ghana's Army is the inception of a National Service, not the type Ghana has at the moment, through which every young able-bodied person reach voting age should serve in the Army for a period. In so doing Ghana can down the recruitment of professional soldiers to a minimum thereby making savings for the country. Furthermore, with time Ghanaians on the whole will have military knowledge and therefore be in a
position to defend the country at any time when the need arises. The present system of recruitment into the Army needs to be reviewed to reflect the real needs of Ghana and not for the benefit of individuals be he in the Army or in the political arena.
