  Does Ghana need a law where all motor bikes are illegal unless owned by the police and military???
  
  Where as, no motor bikes from countries next door, like Togo, Ivory Coast or Burkina Faso can enter Ghana, at the borders.

  This menace of armed robbery is a canker that will continue to flourish until our police look at new ways in which to deal with it. There is no pressure towards the high command of the police to start to produce results in the reduction of armed robbery. This is purely a police issue to address and no new legislation is the way, after all why inconvenience the law biding motor cycle user. The police need to come up with proactive policing that is intelligence lead, they need to build a library of informants(pay them retainers) who can tip off the police when they are aware of impending robberies or for that matter assault rifles in the hands of idiots. All firearms must be registered or else if you are caught with one not registered then an automatic fine applies. Finally we have slept walked into this armed robbery menace by not doing enough to stop these sophisticated guns entering Ghana, if nothing is done to address this then mark my words, Ghana will become like a Nigeria or South Africa where you cannot go out after hours....

  Unfortunately, our laws seems to work better for Electoral commission, post-election petitions and many other stupid happenings. We don't apply the laws for issues threatening human life though they are written down. Armed robbers, fund embezzlers, crimninals or corrupt persons deserve death penalty but we always temper justice with too much leniency in such a way that people are killed free of charge because the laws are not working properly.

  I was in Sunyani driving from Magazine to town. A red traffic light at Poly halted us. A motorbike speeded at the red light and nearly hit 2 of the poly boys crossing the road. It got green so I deceided to Chase the boys. I picked 2 police at the VRA juntion fast to arrest them. The took the Nimpong road and whist narating the story to the COP , HE WAS Trying to convience me to give up because after all it cant be prooved and nothing will come out of it. At a point I gave up and brought him to where he was picked. I leave it here
