These people did not voluntary decide to go back to Ghana and that is the only time you can come back to Ghana without being handcuffed and chained. These people were forcefully removed from USA.

Is Mr Sosu telling us these people who were forcefully removed should have been transported back to Ghana without being handcuffed and chained?

First, it is a tumultuous time for these deportees when you are told you are going to be deported. Some of these people might be suicidal and really depressed and you cannot transport them from USA to Ghana, an air mileage between 9,000 to 12,000 depending on your originating point by leaving them to roam freely in the plane above 40,000 feet from the ground.

What about if they become mutinous and decide to hijack the plane or one suicidal deported decides to hijack the plane and cause a crash?

No Mr Sosu, this is not despicable and against any human rights. The Pilot and his or her crew including the federal Marshall's who guided these criminals back to Ghana also have human rights, their rights to live and take care of their families.

Yes, these people according to USA law are criminals by trying to enter the country without proper documents. They were given a chance at the immigration courts to prove why they should be allowed to stay here and they couldn't.

U.S.A is not a Police state like Germany and other European countries where they arrest you on the street or at your job and bundle you to the next plane bound for Ghana. USA will even give you a lawyer for free at immigration Court to prove that you should be allowed to stay here.

Ask these detainees how long they have been in USA and if they were not given a chance at the immigration courts. Believe me, they have been in court proceedings for at least three months before being removed.

You said deportees are not to be in handcuff unless they are difficult to restrain. Have you heard the term voluntary removal? If you do not voluntary tell the immigration Judge or your lawyer does not request for voluntary departure but you fight for your rights to remain in UDA and found guilty, you are detained and papers for your deportation are prepared and you are deemed as a flight risk that have to be chained during flights for safety reasons.

It is not only Ghanaians or Africans who are treated this way. All deportees including whites, Asians, Hispanics are daily removed from USA.

The Skype trial might be conducted when it is feasible and convenient for both parties but you are a damn liar to say mass trial are conducted. You might have been one of the deportees and your anger and shouting here shows you are emotionally unstable to be left free in a plane to put other people lives at risk.

Legally enter USA and avoid this situation. USA does not owe you anything, have a goodnight.

What is the usefulness of human rights without human development? When government has frozen public sector employment and also failed to resource private businesses to absorb these unemployed ones.

The deportees' claims about being treated like animals are plain dishonest. Before a person is deported from the US, he is accorded a due process by appearing before an immigration judge. Only after the legal avenue is exhausted is a person finally deported from the US. These people demanded to be treated like regular passengers on a regular flight, knowing every well that they were being deported for violating US immigration laws. They were handcuffed throughout the flight to Ghana, because they posed a potential threat to the crew. Once they arrived on the ground and no longer posed a threat, the handcuffs were then removd. I cannot see why the deportees failed to see that and not because the US authorities did not the press to see them in handcuffs.
