The problem with Ghana is, we copy blindly. Our court system is nothing to write home about. Most of them are NPP judges and do not apply the law. Do we believe we can get Justice in our courts?

The utterances of Charlotte Osei are geared towards chaos. eg, she told BBC that if the presidential results are very close, there will be a recount. Meanwhile the law says 50% plus one vote wins. So assuming there is no spoiled ballot and either NPP or NDC gets 50% plus 1 vote, do you think recounting will guarantee peace? During Dr. Afari Gyan's era such pronouncements weren't heard. So we really need to advice Madam Charlotte Osei.

After all the chief justice is not a man but a woman.

As for our Council of State it is simply bogus and packed with DEAF AND DUMB people who refuse to think. Yes, Prof. Asante you may not tell the EC how to do its job but you can meet privately with the EC to explore alternate conflict resolutions (ACR) approaches within the confines of the law. Even our courts do allow cases to be settle out of court. Arbitration is one of the ACR methods that bring peace. This EC chair is inexperienced and is behaving like an examiner of term papers. She gloats arrogantly that she is happy with law suits against the EC obtuse about the fact that losses undermine her and the ECs credibility Court battles with the EC is not the goal of running a fair and transparent election but advancement of democracy and the rule of law. Administrative high handedness is combustible fodder for conflicts in electoral disputes.There can only be Peace when there is a perception of justice. The Peace Council's ostrich like behavior on matters of grave importance like the disqualification of aspirant is regrettable. It's is difficult to bring Peace after sectarian wars have started. Quite proaction is better than reaction combustible issues.
