There are as many chiefs in each constituency as there tribes, especially in the Volta Region. NDC and NPP are using the cheapest route to campaign for votes by using chiefs. This is very wrong as it is unethical. A party should pay a courtesy call on a chief and his elders at his palace and seek their permission to campaign on their land and then proceed to the rally grounds. The chiefs should not be seated at those places nor allowed to give speeches. In Nkwanta South Constituency there are far too many dialects and each is associated with a tribe with a head and all are striving to be recognized as chiefs. Many have cases pending in court dating as far back as the Dr. Busia nad Gen Acheampong. It is better politicians ignore all these age long chieftaincy disputes and concentrate on mobilizing people across the board. In that way any elected president has a free hand to rule without feeling tied to any particular chief. The example of Atta Mills and NDC in Yendi should serve as an example after they had put in their manifesto of 2004 to find the killers of the Ya Naa. The NPP and NDC are walking into landmines in this year's elections with all these open, public and unrestrained endorsement by chiefs with the attendant conditionalities. Campaigns can be prosecuted effectively without involving chiefs as happened in 2000,
2004, 2008 and 2012.

When in Ghana have we seen a president campaigning, his wife,his vice and the chief of staff leaving their respective offices to campaign. Yet they claimed they have worked more than any precious government. No amount of campaign will save them for being elected out in December.
