"Their cursed blood runs through the veins" The use of the word "vein" here is a misnomer and many people are not aware of it.There are two types of blood vessels.One carries oxygenated blood called arteries with the exception of the pulmonary artery which carries deoxygenated blood from the heart to the lungs and veins which carry deoxygenated blood with the exception of the pulmonary vein which carries oxygenated blood from the lungs to the heart. The use of the word "vein' as a substitute for blood vessel therefore is wrong.Next time say blood vessel and not vein.Oxygenated blood means blood fully laden with oxygen and deoxygenated blood is blood lacking oxygen.
