This project went ahead with steel against the engineers' advice so someone could get the contract to supply all the steel for the project. With our poor maintenance culture, I can assure every Ghanaian that this bridge will deteriorate in five years due to severe rusting from sea breeze. The original engineers' estimate was 60% of the final price. It will definitely be investigated some day. that will be when it starts deteriorating. Kufuor constructed the George Bush Highway from Tetteh Quashie to Mallam with two major interchange for the same price as the Nkrumah Interchange wihch is just one interchange. Stealing and corruption will never allow John Mahama, hid family and appointees to do a good job.

Mr. Mahama and his looting brigade are not interested in the priorities that would ease the suffering of Ghanaians; they are only interested in prestigious projects for the enjoyment of few ruling elites, regardless of whether the inflated projects are priorities and value for money or not.

Does the insensitive NDC government think, despite the massive corruption and incompetence, they could borrow recklessly and spend their way foolishly into another mandate in 2016 while the nation is over burdened with HIPC and workers wallowing in hunger? I wonder how they are going to account for the $40 plus billion they have borrowed so far to land our country in HIPC and bankruptcy.

Governance under the NDC is all about 'opium of the people'. They enjoy everything under the sun but ask us to wait for our basic needs in heaven. And as they ask us to tighten our belts for future betterment, they have already loosened theirs for immediate consumption, and they didn't even respect our intelligence when they said there would be paradise in Ghana if we give them a third mandate in the coming elections.

The truth is that, everything they promise is a mirage and we will never find comfort under them because; they are con-men with con plans.

United Staes Ambassador to Ghana, Robert Jackson

The United States government says it will not hesitate to hold responsible those who incite political violence in the run up to the December 7 polls.

As punishment for those who engage in these acts, the US says it will “…will consider all options to hold responsible those who incite political violence, including denying or revoking visas.”

It further urged all to participate peacefully in the democratic process—before, during and after Election Day, stressing that “The government of the United States does not support a particular candidate or a particular party. We support democracy.”

Below is a copy of the full statement

The United States condemns all political violence in Ghana, especially any violent acts directed at political candidates, their homes or families.

While campaigns can be vigorous and sometimes contentious, violence has no place in the electoral process.

In the period leading up to and following Ghana’s elections on December 7, we call on all actors to remain peaceful and respect the democratic process.

We encourage all parties to make it clear to their constituents that any violence or attempts to use intimidation to disrupt the democratic process is unacceptable.

The United States will consider all options to hold responsible those who incite political violence, including denying or revoking visas.

The United States applauds Ghana’s tradition of peaceful, democratic elections. The international community is working with the Electoral Commission, National and Regional Peace Councils, NGOs, civil society organizations, the media, the police and others to support Ghana’s efforts to hold credible and nonviolent presidential elections.

We urge all to participate peacefully in the democratic process—before, during and after Election Day.

The government of the United States does not support a particular candidate or a particular party. We support democracy.

We will continue to work with the freely elected government of Ghana, just as we always have.\

Does the interchange bringing money in your pocket? A thief always remain a thief and JM has burdened Ghana with soo much debt that next generations to come will find it heavy to take. The negative effect on the economy and the socio economic development of the ordinary man at a long run will be immense. But a country where the masses cannot think far and have no sense of responsibility eccept partying and having holidays what can one expect?
Someone borrows 100 dollars and steals 70 and use 30 for a project completed does not need to be celebrated but put in prison.
JM does not deserve a second chance. He is too criminal. He needs criminal soldiers to fight for them.
