It is true that not all AC Millan players supported Berlesconi but did any of the AC Millan players campaigned for any of Berlesconi's opponents? there is freedom of association and Mensah has the freedom and the right to join any political party of his choice.
But Imagine, you have spent huge sums of money campaigning to get to power and immediately you returned home from your campaign trip, you see your son wearing your opponent's T-shirt. How would you feel?

The player should have known better. even if he wouldn't vote for Nduom, he shouldn't have come public to campaign for the NPP. the player could ruin his career through this act. He's really lucky that he was only striped off his captainship. even with this, what if the team keep him at the bench and pay him his salary, as time passes by he'll become rusty. Because the team know what the public may think if his contract is terminated. I now understand the sentence that "common sense are not so common to common people".

On the other hand, Sharks shouldn't have taken that decision either, even though it is hard to swallow, they could have advised the player privately and the needed steps taken without the public knowing.

In summary, the player should apologies to the team and the team must intend to reinstate him as captain. the two parties must accept that they have all erred.
