Though our problems are numerous enough, I still want share the ff comments of an American on their insurance system: " " currently am fighting chronic bacterial endocarditis (Heart Infection) and I might not be around for to much longer.. I have a story to tell that's going to be a bit long, but I would really appreciate if you guys would read what I have to say... I'm a 36 year old married white male and father of one, who's been battling a life threatening illness my whole life... The sad part is that our healthcare system did this to me... I was 20 years old working for 12 bucks an hour at a boatyard...I didn't have insurance because it would have cost me over 50% of what I made and I simply could not afford it.. One day I got really sick and went to the doctor. They ran some tests but couldn't find anything wrong with me other then massive body wide inflammation, but no cause.. As months passed I got worse going from a muscular 5'11 215LBS down to 150LBS and throwing up blood... The doctors still couldn't find the cause.. I lost my job of coarse while racking up a lot of medical bills I couldn't pay, for services that did nothing to help me.. I got to the point I couldn't get out of bed when some family members came to help and bought me insurance.. Even still doctors couldn't find what was wrong... I was dying and no one could help me. I made one last attempt with another doctor my friend told me about. The doctor wanted to run some special tests on me that he was baffled haven't been run by the 14 doctors I saw previously.. What the tests showed is that I had a rare bacteria eating my body from the inside... Rare as it may have been, there was still a very simple cure for it.. A certain combo of antibiotics both intravenous and oral for 3 months.. I was going to live but for how long who knows.. The damage was done. This bacteria was doing it's work on me for over a year before I got rid of it. My doctor said that I would most likely not live a long life and that it would be riddled with illness due to the fact my immune system was now having an autoimmune response... He couldn't have been more right.. For 16 years it's been 1 infection after another.. The latest being chronic heart infections which comes with a 90%+ mortality rate...The doctor that originally cured me of that rare bacteria called the other doctors that failed to help me.. What he found out is that it came down to money.. They couldn't run the tests I needed because I didn't have insurance for 9 of them. The other 5 doctors couldn't get the approval from my newly acquired insurance company because the tests were rare and cost to much money for them to cover... The doctor that saved my life took pity on me and paid out of pocket for the tests I needed. I own him the extra time he bought me. But had I have had those tests run they would have found what was killing me.. If it's caught early there's almost no ill effects.. But of coarse it wasn't caught early and i'm now at a point that my luck may have run out...I'm going to leave my 6 year old son and wife of 12 years with almost nothing since our life has been 1 huge struggle due to my illness.... This is what a (FOR PROFIT) healthcare system gets you... Me living a healthy life or living a painful illness riddled one cut short all came down to money.. Even after Obamacare kicked in, it was still 500 bucks a month to cover me (Money we didn't have) but still paid, only to find out it wouldn't cover the specialists I need to see. Obamacare has done nothing for me, just like how it was before it was put in place.. Why? Because it's not profitable to treat people like me.. Our healthcare system is great if you're rich or are lucky enough to never catch anything rare or expensive to treat. If you're not either of those our healthcare system sucks, leaves you in massive debt, and can literally kill you when you could have otherwise been saved, as I've so painfully found out.. This is why I didn't vote for Clinton.. It wasn't to long ago that Hillary called our (For Profit) healthcare system evil and that we needed to do single payer.. But fast forward to the democrat primaries and she called Sanders wanting to do single payer a, "crazy idea".. She now supports our (For Profit) healthcare system and the private insurance companies.. This is a flip flop I can't excuse.. Yeah me support a system that has literally killed me? Would you?? And no i'm not a republican and didn't vote Trump either.. The republicans have always been against single payer, and if the democrats aren't going to fight for it who will?? I don't want my son to have to go through what I have gone through. I don't want any of my fellow Americans to go through what I've gone through.. Our health shouldn't come down to whether or not we were born into a rich family.. And when I originally got sick at 20 I had only been working for 2 years. Not long enough to even be rich if thats what we're going to base our healthcare treatment on. I'm still for capitalism in most areas, but this isn't one of them.. Equal healthcare should be an American right.. If you pay taxes then you should get the best treatment possible for yourself and your family, no questions asked...?

Nkrumah's spending was with a plan(the 7-year dev. plan) at the end of which Ghana was to become an industrialized country with many jobs to create worth for the people.

On the other hand, Mahama's spending is reckless with no clear cut direction, a lot of our money is falling through the cracks.

We can't look at the faces of our children and stand by and look as this NDC gov destroys their future with piles of bills for them to pay.

Is this Afotey Agbo man for real? Does he even know what Nkrumah really did for Ghana's development? He may be hallucinating. He probably sees his backyard now getting its share of some minor development, and believes the whole Nation has similarly developed.

Well, let Afotey show Ghanaians the 300-plus Factories that Mahama has built. We are yet to see what Mahama has done to match the Akosombo Dam or the township of Tema Port, for example. If these folks think the Circle interchange alone is enough to convince folks that Ghana has developed more under Mahama than any other President before him, they are really living on a different Planet.

If only they could return all the stolen funds missing from SADA, GYEEDA, SUBA and other programs, we might be able to fund more developments to close the gap between what Nkrumah did and what we have gotten since. Afotey must start going on retrieval rounds to collect all the loots before the Elections, or he would be out there without a job after December 7th.

If these Mahama surrogates think just throwing such nonsensical factually deficient crap around would win them the Elections, they better think again. Surely, folks in the rural areas may not have the luxury to access the cogent facts of the real state of the Nation, as they relentlessly go about their subsistence task to survive, but they are not fools to buy into such grossly mendacious claims by Afotey and his cohorts. And these folks hold all the cards to decide who wins the Elections this time around.

My whole family vote NDC in 2012 but never again. These people think we are stupid. We cannot wait for Dec 7 to vote. Once bitten twice shy. We will change govt every 4 year until politician start to respect Ghanaians.
