  Let me give you a very typical example:
  
  In the just completed US elections, every poll in the world favoured Hilary Clinton and all polls gave her an average of 52% to 48%. But what happened : Trump won overwhelmly.
  
  In a country like US, that is no problem because they know that polls DO NOT mean much and that they are only a sampling of about a few tens (perhaps 1000) people among MILLIONS. The danger of such samplings is that they are MOST often biased in the sense that they are not representative.
  
  
  However in a country like Ghana, where the semi/illiteracy rate is very high, Ghanaians THINK that polls are the election results, so if what the EXPECT varies from the reality, they'll thik that somebody has rigged the election.

  Scientific polls in the US are usually accurate, and mean a lot, what happened in the last US presidential polling was actually an anomaly -- Trump voters were ashamed of saying they were going to vote for him, so lied, and also there was the Commey/FBI last meeting effect. Remember there is also the margin of error,which one needs to keep in mind and any sensible person knows that the real election day voting is what matters. Not sure why Ghanaians would be different.

  Why don't Ammisah Arthur talk about the violence of his party thugs but rather afraid of opinion polls. What matters is for Ghanaians to have a violence free elections. NDC's plans to rig this election will not materialise this time around, since our eyes and ears are wide open and no amount of intimidation will stop NPP from winning this years election.
