  People registering every year helps spread and share risk. When people can't use the service because they have not renewed their cards curtail utilization that can be delayed, especially those that can be avoided. That is how insurance works.
  
  This multi-year registration is not a solution for your inability to deal with the inefficiencies within the scheme.
  
  NHIA should begin thinking outside the box. Does everyone deciding to renew have to go to an NHIS office? What about partnering with private companies to register people for you, just like the utility companies do?
  
  The reason given for this change is not good enough. If this was to get attention of government or to support government's claim that more people are registering with the scheme to help government win the impending elections won't work.

  what is worrying is that the NHIA is not reimbursing health service providers and that has almost collapsed all private clinics in the country.WHY?

  It's not about 'Multi-year renewal'. You expanded access have you been able to pay service providers? What kind happened to 'ONE TIME PREMIUM'? Cheap talk. #Change is coming!
