The high demand make the underground business lucrative. As for the effect on the cedi. I will not give you any free Economic 101 here.   Do you know why south Africa's economy I so vibrant and well?Because they protect their local currency with laws.You cannot just walk into a cambio to exchange or buy any foreign currency without first of all answering questions as to why you need to make that transaction.I remember in the nineties ghana's exchange rates were determined by unscrupulous elements in Nima and Mamobi black marketers therefore totally destroying ghana's economy.JJ and his stupid Finance minister Victor Salormey sat unconcerned whilst charlatans and illiterates conduct and determined how much the cedi should sell or bought.We all know what happened in the long term,Ghana's currency was so worthless that we had do what we had to do.But since this Ndc is in power we should expect the worse is yet to come
