Joshua does not exist in isolation. He is the young man who carries over the baton from old Moses. Moses was his mentor and he takes over from him after he completes his full terms and is too old to continue. He and Moses belong to the same party. He is the choice of Moses and the two respect and are at peace with each other.
Akufo Addo does not fit the description of Joshua at all. Akufo Addo is not young but an old man at the twilight of his life. Akufo is working hard to ensure Mahama the Moses does not finish his full terms. Mahama, the Moses has rejected him and he is doing everything to stop him from becoming president.
The Joshua analogy will occur when Mahama, the Moses has finished his full terms in 2020. He will then endorse for Ghana a young man, the real Joshua who will take over from him.

The man had a staff in one hand and some stone tablets under the other arm. George W., struck by the man’s appearance, approached the man and asked” Aren’t you Moses?” The man ignored George W. and stared at the ceiling. George W., unaccustomed to being ignored, positioned himself more directly in the man’s view and asked again, “Aren’t you Moses?” The man continued staring at the ceiling.
