  The Americans chose their president according to the provisions of the US Constitution. That is the result of the practice of democracy. I don't think that Soyinka will be missed. Many Americans wouldn't notice or mind even if he jumped into a lake, because it is very unlikely that his opinion matters to Americans. He acquired a green card because he knew that the US would offer him a lifestyle that Nigeria couldn't offer him in a hundred years. If he doesn't want to live in the US because Americans chose a president that almighty Soyinka doesn't approve of, he should return to his native Nigeria, the home of democracy.
