The journey has not been easy but you needed to pass through the mill, be grinded and come out finer. The President you would have been in 2009 is not the President you will be in 2017. You had to fail all those times, you needed to be humbled, you needed to see a greater portion of the country, come into contact with everyday people and witness for yourself their struggles so that when you finally are in the seat, you will remember that, with every decision you make it is the people that will be affected. I hope these 8 years of hard lessons will forever remain with you.
Now, Mr.President, there's work to be done....so much it's scary.
We are aware our finances have been stretched beyond its elastic limit and personally, I know all those promises you made cannot be achieved in these four years...We will forgive you and not hold you to it if we see serious efforts as you attempt to put the economy back on its feet. We want to see that you are working at putting systems in place to check corruption ( yes, there will be corruption in your government). We want to see PROGRESS in every aspect of our lives. Don't be quick to build factories and dams etc. in the first 100 days...let's have a plan first....and let's work at it. Mr. President, yours is a harder task because so many people, even those who didn't vote for you have always wondered how your government will be like. As you can see and even up to this minute ...what people got cool chop, you have had to prove yourself beyond reasonable doubt that it's for you and I believe same will go for your presidency. You will need to work harder than those before you, you will need to surround yourself with people who are inclusive, who watch their words, who don't take people for granted. This is because what will be swept under the carpet for some, will be set in stone for you and you will be criticized for it.Yes, ask Presidents Kuffuor, late Mills, Rawlings and Mahama... not only criticism but insults by ordinary people.
You will do well to remember that the Ghanaian electorate of 2000 is not the same of 2016. The dynamics have changed. People can see and hear, and they don't have short memories... they will remember and act upon it. If you mess up even a little bit, they will not forgive you.Remember what happened when loudmouthed young braggarts appeared in the NDC unchecked?The people punished Mahama's government for it. I'm sure you know that there are many like them in your party and that like their compatriots in the NDC, they know that power is sweet and would want to amass wealth for themselves, like their friends did.
Mr.President, there is no better measure of economic prosperity than in our pockets. I hope you have learnt that. When the people say they are suffering, listen to them. Don't listen to the people around you, obviously they are eating from your plate and would want to pretend all is well so they continue to eat. But we, yes we the electorate, we get no freebies, we buy food at market prices, we pay bills, we buy toilet roll, we buy fuel, we pay Lorry fares, we use deplorable roads, and so we feel it when things are not going well. So listen to us and do something about it.
Lastly, I pray that God grants you good countenance and wisdom. You need it to choose the right people to work with, people who will help you to achieve this dream of making Ghana great again.
Please work hard, work hard and leave a legacy. Don't worry about another term, work as if this is the only term you have and leave a legacy to your name. As they say, a good name is better than riches. I wish you the best and I pray God be your guide.
In 4 short years, the people would be called upon to re-evaluate you and make a choice again.
By now you, the principal architect, know that by breaking the myth, the 8 years per president does not work anymore.

One day you're going to discover the truth that the people in the Volta Region are the best thinkers of Ghana. Those of you who would vote without being seriously analytical are the really backward people and you're Ghana's bane. Why should you expect me to vote for a candidate who has successfully managed to lie to Ghanaians for over 40 years that he's a lawyer but has not been able to tell them the educational institution that trained him as such? Why should I believe Akufo-Addo that he's a lawyer but that his law certificate is missing? You so-called Prof. Lingu who think you're intelligent, read again Akufo-Addo's profile and you'll see that it's completely silent on where he received his legal training, whereas it boldly mentions that he graduated with an Economics degree from the University of Ghana after which he went to England to study law, after having also gone to Oxford University. And remember, although it's not stated in his profile, he earned a mere 3rd Class degree.

Akufo-Addo's profile also mentions that he studied law in England and entered the Middle Temple and you believe that because you're deeply ignorant of the fact that only 2nd Class Upper Division holders and higher -- not 3rd Class or even 2nd Class Lower Division holders -- are qualified to be admitted to that distinguished British institution.

Besides, Akufo-Addo is said to have been called to the Bar in Ghana, but that too is clouded in mystery. There're so many question marks about that also. In short, it's apparent that he went through the back door to be enrolled by the Ghana Legal Council. And that's the reason why he's unable to mention a single individual with whom he went through the ceremony to enrol. And he's very lucky because the crooked and corrupt Ghanaian system run by crooked individuals has enabled him to get away with it.

Aren't you worried that you've blindly elected someone who claims to be a lawyer but he's not, just as former President Kufuor did? He also claims to be a lawyer and Ghanaians generally believe that he trained at Oxford University as such but that institution wrote to deny that he trained there. Oxford however indicated that Kufuor did complete a course of study there and offered History, Philosophy and Economics for his undergraduate degree. So, the question is, where did Kufuor study law? He's never answered that question. The only good thing about him is that he, unlike Akufo-Addo, never attempted to enrol with the Ghana Legal Council; he didn't join the Ghana Bar and so never practised law in Ghana. But he has successfully fooled Ghanaians. And it's precisely because of ignorant people like you that we have those kinds of politicians who make a fool of us all.

The people of the Volta Region beg to differ. And that's no crime against anybody. You can continue to delude your mind that you're forward-looking and that you're wise and intelligent while Voltarians are backward. But the future will tell.

Meanwhile, Kufuor and Akufo-Addo will be laughing at the stupid Ghanaian electorate.

Mr. President-elect, I crave your indulgence to seriously look at the enormous potential of the Volta Region to Ghana's socioeconomic growth and addressing the huge unemployment situation in the country.
I recall what Togbe Afede XIV said about wealth creation and how it pained him so much that a beach front project proposed for Accra at an estimated cost of $1.5 billion remained a dream to be achieved although it had the potential of offering jobs to many unemployed youth.
Mr. President-elect I believe if Togbe Afede XIV could be convinced to relocate this project to the Volta Region, and it was implemented along the lines of the Eko Atlantic City of Lagos, Nigeria, Volta Region will never be the same in terms of the massive transformation such a project will bring to the Volta region and the Eastern part of Ghana.
Mr. President-elect I am just but a common citizen of this Great land of our birth and I believe when we put our minds to our development efforts, in a focused, conscientious and honest manner, there is nothing we as a people cannot achieve.
I see the potential for this project in a lot of ways including preventing the erosion of the land dwelling of our brothers and sisters in the Volta region and I think there is an opportunity to address it.
Please consider this project and let's transform the huge potential of the Volta region whilst protecting our brothers and sisters from the ravages of the sea.
It is possible, it is doable and I believe we should do it. It is being done not far away from us along the Bight of Benin, Lagos to be precise.
I am but a common man but I see what can be achieved with vision, competence, honesty, and commitment by leadership in transforming the lives of the citizenry.
Ghana's entire coastal line from Volta region to the western region is an untapped cash cow and it must be tapped to change the fortunes of suffering Ghanaians yearning for a life of dignity and prosperity.
