Great action by the mayor. Ghanaians must understand what "LIFE SAFETY " is all about. A lot more buildings will have to be mitigated to provide a safe living environment for the citizens of Ghana. I am very PROUD of the mayor. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND DO NOT ALLOW ACCRA TO EXPERIENCE THE SAME DILEMMA AS NIGERIA. Thanks from a 38years experienced Architect and a seasoned building professional from Nashville, Tennessee.

The mayor wants to save their life. So the people are holding their hand out and saying what do you have for me.
Let them stay inside until the building collapses and kills them all!

I am pretty sure AMA has a budgetary allocation for emergencies like this.
For the Mayor to dismiss the plight outright and tell them to find their own accommodations is total crass.
When will we learn at all? When will our leadership learn from others and put the education to proper use and improve the welfare of the citizenry.
What's Accra stadium there for? The council should build temporary tents there to accommodate them until their environment is made safe for them to go back . If they are thinking of cost, I can assure you that will be a fraction of the cost of V8 cars they have been wasting tax payers money on.
Please put your thinking caps on, let the government show concern for the people.

Quit lying to those living outside the USA.
In emergency situations like this, the typical response will be for the Red Cross and other charitable organizations to step into the breach. No government, even a seemingly unloved one like this one, can continue to spend at will without budgeting for unusual expenditures like what has been presented here.

I suspects the Mc Truth wrote and his twin brother Anokwale seconded but the real truth is that you guys have no clue what you're talking about. Situations of this magnitude is not handled by the federal government. When a building is declared unsafe, anyone living there finds his or her own way. In cases where somebody has no money to rent a place you go straight to public shelter. Ghanaians rely on government for everything. When will this end?

The demolition man is back. Obaanye le. Ogboo nana. You should have contested the Ablekuma south constituency seat. Being a mayor is bigger than an MP. Go back to the post demolition man.

So, when is the AMA going to complete engineering analysis, and when is the AMA going to demolish that building, if in deed the building is dangerous, and the owner is unwilling/unable to do same?
That, we submit, is what the Mayor of Accra ought to be addressing, without all that mean-spiritedness.
That, we submit, is the responsibility of "the government".
