An excellent selection and nomination by Nana and NPP. Congratulations Dr Mike Oquaye! I am not surprised about this nomination. Astute observers might have noticed Mike Oqyuaye and Kwesi Botchwey are members of the 5 person Presidential advisory council jointly headed by the president elect and his excellency. Mike and Kwesi are some of the best talent with the legal, intellectual capabilities and experience in Statecraft available to our country. Ghana is lucky to have such people . Interestingly they both are alumns of Presec. Odumasi Krobo. Another interesting observation is that the Speakership is turning to become a GA position except for two parliaments in our democratic history. GA must be proud. The First Lady elect's father was a Speaker.
We pray Nana's government appointments will draw from experienced talent with the right skill sets and temperament to move Ghana forward to its potential. The disaster of NDC political hacks of - from University to ministerial position ( Babies with acid tunges and sharp teeth) experience must be avoided except in the area of technology.The talent pool of Ghanaians at home and in the diaspora must be tapped to rejuvenate agriculture and industry to provide jobs and create wealth for citizens.We must direct the economy to produce for internal needs and exports by supporting local entrepreneurs to grow rapidly to compete in the global economy. This cannot be achieved in four years but we must begin. Singapore , Malaysia, South Korea , Thailand have done it. So can we!!!
