Focus on CnC operators and CAD programmers.Ghana can produce cheap car part,machines and other part in the oil and gas industries. we have metals and aluminium in our system so now is the time to set up factories around this mineral. CNC machines are not expensive in this 21st century Ghana.Just 5 million dollars could set up big machine part with CNC machines to produce all parts in manufacturing industries,car part,air planes and others. Just one Chines programmer could teach hundreds of Ghanaian programmers and there is our wealth creation.

This arrangement has been long overdue. But the Baahs (lecturers) were more interested in one-way politics - i.e. one which attacked Mahama and his government and fought for NPP to take over the reign.

Here we go again, the perennial misunderstanding about the role of theory in the practical:

"...The Head of Kumasi Incubation Center, KNUST, Mr. Sam Akomea, acknowledged that the discussions forms part of efforts of the University to move away from ‘theory’ to practical..."

The practical is the plant that germinates from the seed of theory.

What we REALLY mean is:
THEORY MUST BE PUT INTO PRACTICE.

There would never have been airplanes if the theory of fluid dynamics embodied in "the Bernoulli Principle" had not been FIRST developed.

It is interesting to note that after all these decades, our academicians are now realising this. This shows that they have been way out in touch with reality for far too long. They train Electrical engineers who hire road side uneducated electricians to wire their houses for them. This is the type of graduates we are producing. All want to be consultants whilst Chinese technical school graduates build the nation. KNUST will not have to look far - the Kumasi Magasine is a good starting place, the GRATIS project, oil and gas sectors. We have produced nothing so far. I advocated for the closure of KNUST because l felt it was a waste. Now if they wake up from their sleep, we may give them a chance.

Academia should be building linkages with industry and business to inculcate entrepreneurship in graduates and help businesses grow.

Academia should be building linkages with industry and business to inculcate entrepreneurship in graduates and help businesses grow.

We want our engineers to build our roads, bridges, school, hispitals and railways. We want to be able to do things ourselves rather than rely on foreigners.

If your car wouldn't start, you had better get a mechanic who understands stuff like "oxygen sensors", "electronic computerized modules (ECM)", and probably the field of "embedded systems". I hope the folks at Suame Magazine know all these like the back of their hands!

The world is moving towards 3-D printing even for the manufacture of spare parts.

And need I tell you more about self-driving cars?

The future is here already, and it is nothing like we used to know.
