As a son from the north I have had enough of insults me and my kinsmen have been having from the camp of the elephants. Is it a crime for a northerner to serve his country in any capacity including the presidency? They treat us as if we are not children of God like them. Was that what our late president Kwame Nkrumah meant for Ghana? Kwame Nkrumah united Ghana and also detribalised us. He made all tribes in Ghana to see other tribes as one people but the moment Prof Busia and co came in through the bloodiest coup of February 1966, Ghana was divided on tribal and political lines and still burning on these lines unabated. Oh mother Ghana, God save us!

All that we interested in now is to see: one village one dam (OVOD), one district one factory (ODOF), one constituency one million dollar (OCOND) lowering of taxes, free SHS system, giving teacher trainees and nurses all their frozen allowances in three months, giving DKM costomers all their frozen savings and those your lofty promises. These are some of the many things Ghanaians are expecting to hear from you but not history lectures. In the end posterity will judge you for what socio-economic progress you were able to bring to your people when you ascended the Presidency. I hope and pray that your current status of health will allow you to be up to the energy required for such a draining and stressful job ahead. The people you are about to rule are very fastidious and tricky [in the true spirit of the Ananse myth and fables of the land], for they will say one thing in your face, turn around and say something else when you are not in ear shot. They will heap fake glories on you in your presence to curry favors and turn around to say you have been had. Your job has been made even the more difficult by the easy manner in which you have made it possible for them to remember and never forget the election promises you gave them on your electioneering platform - 1 district - 1 dam, 1 constituency - $1m etc. because they will be very demanding of you in your term and it will stress you out. If at any juncture, you feel that your ill-health cannot withstand the stresses of the job, do not hang on like your own university mate Atta Mills did, but resign honorably to enjoy the warmth of your beautiful family and let the young Bawumia take over.
