If what he said means he played politics then what are the people calling on him to abdicate his stool are doing,is it not also politics?

There are many chiefs who supported the two candidates openly but those chiefs are living in peace with their people after the election is over but once again my brothers in the Ga community are trying to start another chieftaincy dispute, there are many things chiefs have to do before they are destooled but political comments are not one of them,it is not in any tradition,the man gambled and lost,leave him alone to mourn his loss.

This Tradition dates back to Bible times or Creation.Therefore, a Chief do not rant anyhow or give a promise he cannot fulfil or carried out, whether it was a mistake, likes it or not.There are a lot of Bibical Stories or examples on the Subject.That unveils the question, why is the Chief banned from active Politics?The answer is not far fetched. One of the many military regime's,if I can recollect well, I think Rawlings, stripped the authority and powers of the Chief to the present levels.B'cos he was afraid that a Chief could easily convince his Community to Vote en-mass in Party Politics.That was the ground work he laid to usher the Country back to Party Politics after he toppled a Democratically elected govt to rule for about 18 years.So, a Chief exerts authority over his people,and must always carryout his promise. In that case if he decides to wager his stool on an issue as impertinent as a football score, it is treated in customary law as an oath which carries every sanction he invokes and must be strictly enforced.
For your information the stool is not his personal property. Its an embodiment of the soul of the people for whom he is a mere custodian. It is sacred and cannot therefore be invoked on the whims of the custodian, never mind over pointless political grandstanding. It is why chiefs for all intents and purposes are restrained from ACTIVELY engaging in politics by the wise framers of the constitution as is practiced the world over.
I totally agree with these lot formally calling him out on his own words. He definitely has an oath to keep. In local lore the result of ignoring this will be abominable amounting to invoking curses to his kingdom.
If the Ga fail to destool this idiot, who is ever going to take their traditional rulers seriously. Its an indictment on the institution of traditional authority. It has to be taken seriously.

One thing I have realised in Ghana politics is that when you say something against the ruling government then straight away you are tagged to the opposition party. They don't want the government to be criticised. It doesn't make our leaders accountable. They should be criticised when they go wrong and at the same time praised when they are performing.

In Krachi, my home town chiefs do politics wisely like other wise chiefs in Ghana.

From now onwards some of us will take him to be one of the existing slaves living in Gbese because I don't think any reasonable chief will give such a lose open talk.

Mr. Nii Ayi Bonte go to Bring Ahafo and join your gurus to either tsp palm wine or go and drive the guinea fowls that fled to Borkina Faso to come and enjoy good living in Ghana.
