Ghanaians have voted for a change because the out-going government has failed the country miserably. The blatant corruption, repletion of the national coffers (till V8s are given out as toffees), amassing of personal wealth to the detriment of the masses, arrogance in high places and aiding and abetting of the leadership are just few why Ghanaians want a change in GOVERNING but not a change of PARTY!! Ghana is far bigger than any party. All these thievery of the out-going government could have been harnessed and used for a factory to serve about 10,000 people in each district than giving out a whole $35,000 V8 to one person. If this coming government says they can do it better why all these negative expectations? There are other parties like PPP and CPP to turn to instead of NDC. Most Ghanaians have had enough of NDC. Should students of tertiary institutions take allowances? Should they be fed in school three times daily? Should they have ready job after school or should they apply for jobs?
If teacher trainees are now tertiary level students why should they be fed three times daily, given free accommodation on campus with allowances and offered ready jobs while their colleagues in other tertiary institutions, that is universities including the recently converted technical universities do not enjoy any of these benefits yet have to struggle to get jobs after school? Have we Ghanaians analysed this critically before voting? What if the SRCs in the other tertiary institutions begin to agitate for allowances? Fellow Ghanaians, let us think about the fulfillment of this campaign promise and its economic repercussions.

You promised to restore allowances within three months time but it has failed. Most of the laws during NDC era are still operating . I wonder why we should face difficulties in upgrading after completing a Level .Even willing to go on Transfer is a problem.

Why give allowances to only nursing and teacher trainees? It must be extended to all tertiary students. We have got to ensure that we are all treated fairly as tertiary students. We should not entertain partisan politics.
