Salary & Cost of Living:

Your salary will really depend on where you work and also a bit on your credentials. Private schools pay pretty well, but the language schools and international schools/colleges pay the most. The average salary for a teacher is about 1100 RON ($325) per month, but salaries have been known to go as high as 2500 RON, which comes to about $750 USD. That may not sound like much, but 1100 RON can buy a fair amount in Romania. Some teaching contracts will even include free housing, which will cut out your biggest expense.

If you need to find your own place, that will take a chunk of your budget, but not the entirety. If you scour the web or make use of any contacts your TEFL program might have, you can find a place for as little as 350 RON, about $105, per month. There are many apartments available in the 450-650 RON range as well, which is still fairly inexpensive.

It will also help that groceries are inexpensive in Romania (thank the favorable conversion rate!). Groceries for the month can run as little as 200 RON ($65). That estimate could change depending on what you buy. Pre-prepared foods will cost more and produce the least. Going out to eat is relatively inexpensive too. Dinner costs an average of 15-30 RON, which is only $5-10.

That is the hall mark of a clever person - promises sound large to the ears but really are simple pragmatic solutions which any govt could achieve even under the current poor fiscal regime.
The major difference is the element of vision which I guess is where the NPP tips the balance. They also seem to be better administrators and if we all support them Ghana will win. So kaaa worry onu! Its all very achievable.

In 1979, during Kutu Acheampong's Union Government campaign, we were at home because the universities had been shut down due to students unrest. One Tuesday, most of us from Tech had left town and gone to campus to find out about latest developments on reopening schedules. In our absence Kutu had made an unplanned visit to our town, Juaben, thus forcing the chiefs and people to organise an impromptu durbar for the president to meet his people.
When we got back home later that evening, Kutu had finished his campaign and left. Word reached us that our chief, whom we had believed sided with our opposition to the Unigov idea, had pledged thus to Kutu: "Your Excellency, wherever you go, people are telling you 'Yeaso mu, yeaso mu'(we are holding onto it) but as for me and my people 'Yede abo yen ntoma ano! (we have tied it to the end of our cloth)." We thus rushed to the palace and demanded from our chief why he had betrayed our trust. This was his answer: "My people, why can't you think, think? If people are saying "Yeaso mu, yeaso mu", let them be, because they cannot fail to detect when it slips from their grips. But as for us, we have tied it to the end of our cloth. And in case the knot is not too tight and it drops down, who can hold us accountable?"
This is how Juabenhene told Kutu what he wanted to hear without at the same time incurring the displeasure of his subjects who were at loggerheads with the government. Every traditional ruler must learn how to play to the tune of all parties without antagonising any particular party because his subjects belong to different parties but politics must not be allowed to divide tradition.

They have brought shame to their people and looks like stooges. I wish their subjects would put pressure on them to abdicate their stools and skin's.
These chiefs should be investigated and when found guilty prosecuted for accepting bribes. They are full of insensitivity and are massively corrupt hence their overwhelming endorsement for the outgoing corrupt president. Your personal interests were the sole reasons you supported and voted for mahama and not issues. Such is the foolishness you chiefs exhibited without a recourse to the hardships Ghanaians and your subjects were e going through, not to talk about the thievery and robbery in the various financial scams John Mahama and his NDC subjected the people of the region and beyond to.

Busia's region should be one that is at the corner of the NPP always. The task has fallen on the laps of Akufo Addo to ensure Busia's region is firmly in the corner of the NPP at all times.
It is a herculean task but one which is surmountable. Just like Chief Dombo's region, Busia's region must come back solidly into the fold of the NPP, no if's, no buts, no nothing.

You don't think of the youth whose teacher training and nursing training allowances have been cancelled. Not to talk of NHIS, free maternal care and school feeding program which have all been cancelled.
Mahama withdrew ALL subsidies from school fees, electricity and water bills making them difficult to pay.
You think Ghanaians are mad like YOU and your family to vote for Mahama to put us into this hardship again, 33h
