The Gas should do something about this. I was surprised about the fisherman's concern about faeces and dirt on the beach. My question to him is where does he defecate himself? Capital papa nie. I will support calls for it to be moved if it came to that. I was even more surprised to find it was the Mayors community. A disgrace

The last 25 years I have been to Ghana regularly (approx. every 2nd year) and it's getting worse. All beaches are filled with dirt. Sad sad story.

We have ministers for environment, science and technology, Tourism.we have city Mayor. But nothing. These are some of the most important issues which should concern citizens, NGOs, Media, governments. Beautiful beaches are gold mines we have destroyed ours yet we cry for money.
Ghana is a very funny country. Only resources of a few tribes are forcibly mobilised to feed the whole nation.
We have nationalised all the minerals and even cocoa which is grown by individuals. But when it comes to others, we stop short. Salt for instance should be nationalised all the coast line about 10 kilometers from the shore into the land should be nationalised and strictly belong to the state.
I know some silly guys will say no, but what about lands bearing minerals that automatically belong to the state.
It is only when the law has been changed that we can consciously develope these areas for business purposes.
If we even raise property taxes along the beach 10 miles inside because it is seen as prime areas. Heavy taxes without even nationalising, with heavy penalties for defaulters, people will seell those properties along the beach and move inside. Only those who why put the properties to good use we remain or buy it. We will then see hotels, first class homes springing along the coast.

I plead that Nana and his government tackle this problem seriously. It is a big disgrace to this country. This coupled with the attitude of drivers on the road not respecting basic traffic regulations, will surely keep off tourists and investors from Ghana apart from the health issues. Nana, please do something about this and posterity will remember you. Stop men from urinating in public as if when our women also decide to follow suit, the men will tolerate it. Imagine a lady openly urinating in public. Nana, please set up a mechanism to stop this.
