In your long winding non-fact article, which I strongly suspect is a lift from a page in your ambassadorial terms of reference and appointment letter, you could not even list one achievement that you accomplished. You could also not tell us any reasons why anybody would hate you for whatever you did in Namibia.

Damn idiot let me make it clear to you without mincing any words: Any perceived hatred towards you is nothing but your conscience eating at you for wicked and hateful ethnocentric plot you concocted with Mahama to derail Akufo Addo. It is the same kind of plot which was designed to entice Bugri Naabu, which boomeranged in the face of John Mahama and his dark horse brother Ibrahim. Your utterances had eerie ring and similarity to what they were asking Bugri Naabu to do. Unlike you, Bugri Naabu is an upright man and wouldn't betray his party flagbearer.

To come to think of it, why would Akufo Addo call you into his office and tell you in your face, a northerner, not to support a fellow northerner, because a northerner would never be allowed to lead the NPP? Does that make sense to you, when he had selected a northerner as his running mate to be a heartbeat away from the presidency should anything happened to him if he had been successful then? In your stupid article you are also glossing over the fact that had Atta Mills not died the time he did and had gone on to serve two terms ending this time in 2016, John Mahama would have had no contest within the NDC and the NDC flagbearership would have been handed over to him on a silver platter. That the Goosie Tanoh's and Spio Garbrah's would have stood in line behind Mahama no challenge. How dumb can you be? And if that were to be the case it wouldn't have made the NDC a democratic party but some sort of politburo akin to communist and socialist "democracies" where leaders do not face contests, but are rather selected. Shame on you.

As 2020 beckons I would expect the NDC to handover the NDC flagbearership to Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur hands down, no contest, consistent with your new party's traditions as alleged by you. Adios, the NPP will never miss the likes of you eg. Nyaho Tamakloe and Wreko Brobbey.

There are several Notherners who fall into this category of betraying the NPP but have you heard anyone make a sweeping generalisation. Stop using perpetual victim privilege as a means of ascending to power. In a democracy you ascend to office through elections, and in election you win or lose. If a Fante, Ewe, Ashanti, Akyem loses an election it is because he or she is unpopular, arrogant or didn't campaign well but when a Notherner suffer defeat or is disciplined or criticised then Notherners as a whole are being betrayed. What the NDC was practicing was the minority tribes: Ewes and Notherners lording over the majority-The Akans. And this could have been a recipe for war if NDC had not been overthrown. Every serious government position in the country went to the minority tribesmen. The majority tribe was marginalized. So whatever Akufo Addo or other NPP people said to Haruna Atttah was the truth. The majority taking over their country happened in UK, America under Trump and other European countries. NPP winning in Ghana is therefore very normal. It is he party of the majority.

You have not committed any crime. No! What you have to deal with is your " BETRAYAL " of your political comarades a the NPP fraternity. Comments you made during the few weeks to polls unmasked your own character defect.of tribal inclination. How for a moment , a man of your credibility and integrity think tribal politics is a solid ground, and to sell your conscience to aid evil political characters in the NDC, by stocking tribal animus propaganda for their political advantage.? On principle , why would you jump on the tribal animus band wagon so easily? An issue you must know is an ingredient for instability? Intra-party arguments on political realities for election is just that and not a reflection of ones tribal inclination. This perception on Npp bring an Akan party is hog wash . Akans voted for Limann and Mahama to be president? If the candidate, message and timing is right one can be a flag bearer. It should not be automatic just to assuage a tribal mindset?
If you want personal redemption for what you said during the campaign , then show some contrition by apologizing to NADAA, Hackman- Owusu, Addo Kufour, the NPP and Ghanaian for stoking tribalism for NDC ' s political advantage.
'The self congratulatory and. Victim write up won't do the trick ; feelings are hurt; you can't be trusted by Ghanaians.
For now take comfort with the view that " old soldiers never die, they just fade away".

If this is the quality of our diplomats, we are in for a much longer dark period of incompetence than I ever anticipated. No wonder Ghana is mired in a cycle of dysfunction, distress and debilitating poverty after 60 years of independence, with nothing to show for the resources we have in this country. If this is the sort of write-up an Ambassador puts out -- for whatever reason -- we in this country have no defense against being the laughing stock of many other countries. It is a sad display of ignorance, hubris, incompetence and self-loathing unmatched by anything I’ve seen or read.

What the hell is this diatribe and rambling discourse by Attah supposed to represent? Is it an apology; an accusation; a confessional; a woe-is-me narrative on his coming recall by a new government, or a primer on what diplomats do or don't do? I mean, why on earth write this? What is it supposed to accomplish?

First, who cares about this guy and his posting to Namibia and Botswana, two places not known as havens of cultural, educational or economic development or activities. Simply put, you are a political appointee to a back-water posting of little import to anyone, including the majority of Ghana's citizens.

Second, who cares about how diplomats are classified, appointed, and how they go about doing what they are supposed to do. They are vaunted pen pushers often filled with hot air, who accomplish precious little for whoever they represent. It is a measure of this country’s misplaced priorities that we even still maintain embassies in these places which have little significance to our development and socio-political agenda. Ghana is a 'has been' banana (cocoa) republic, at once mismanaged by the likes of Attah and a cadre of buffoons who don't know what they are doing. And Attah’s posting to these two countries supports the well-known notion that these posts are simply "jobs for the boys" because they do not have any material or meaningful impact on the real issues in this country, or its geopolitical role in the world.

And then to lace this nonsensical diatribe with the plot of a lame forgotten comedy to make an irrelevant point, makes the write-up not funny, but sad. It is a reflection of the sloppiness, incompetence, and a total lack of forward thinking, not only of Haruna Attah, but whoever thought he’d be a good Ambassador. What was the point of the reference to David Niven’s movie?

Perhaps in this country’s halcyon days as Africa’s bellwether and leader in the Pan-African movement, a posting to Namibia or Botswana made sense. It doesn’t now. I wonder what Attah has accomplished during his tenure as Ghana’s representative in these two countries: did he bring any significant business from these countries? Did he take any business from Ghana to them that resulted in any significant impact on our country, such as creating jobs, or bringing in any contributory resources to Ghana? So spare us this stupidity. If anyone thought, in the spirit of bipartisan camaraderie, to keep Attah on at his posting, this is a very good reason to bring him back home to his “unease”.

Yes, he may have a legitimate quarrel with Akuffo Addo and some ethnocentric Akans, but this is certainly not the right way to fight the odious tribalism that have historically attended our politics. Sadly and embarrassingly, Attah exemplifies the quality of the third rate leadership this country has. If we don’t work towards excellence in politics and policy, we will be forever be consigned to the role of hewers of wood and drawers of water . . . for the Europeans we threw out 60 years ago.
