Akufo-Addo’s inauguration: 1,500 residents from Kibi storm Accra

Twenty-seven buses have been provided by the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South, Samuel Atta Akyea to convey about 1,500 people from the hometown of the President-elect Nana Akufo Addo to witness his inauguration on Saturday.

The Abuakwa South constituency communication officer of the NPP, Julius Okyere, disclosed this to Starr News’ Eastern regional Correspondent Kojo Ansah on Friday when he visited Kibi the hometown of the President-elect ahead of his swearing-in at the Independence Square.

“We are busing most of the constituents to the inauguration ground with 27 buses. We are expecting to transport at least 1,500 constituents. We are expecting the buses this evening to dispatch to the various towns so by 3:3am we will converge at Apedwa Junction and move in a long convoy to Accra. The MP Samuel Atta Akyea has made provision for everybody.”

Ansah reports that the entire township is being decorated with NPP colours. Both commercial and private vehicles have NPP flags hoisted on their vehicles while some traders are cashing in on the sale of party paraphernalia.

Residents are highly spirited and excited that one of their own has become President of the Republic of Ghana.

The Okyehene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panyin also President of the Eastern regional House of Chiefs will delegate some chiefs to the ceremony in Accra on Saturday.
