The change we have voted for has to start with each individual. I ask you to be responsible citizens. 6. It is time to define what being a Ghanaian ought to mean. Being a Ghanaian must mean you sign up to a definable code of conduct. 7. I shall protect the public purse by insisting on value for money in all transactions. 8. I see exciting times ahead, the rule of law will be the underlining tenet of our governance. 9. We should learn and accept that we do not own the land, but hold in trust for future generations. 10. State coffers are not the spoils for victorious political parties. I promise to protect the public purse. 11. How shallow have our Politicians become! Oh, we must pay up retroactively, then. Why? Because some of our past Heads of State, if not all, did a much better job at governance than any of these recent ones demanding such a generous largesse.

Hey, so do Nkrumah, Busia, and Liman deserve such houses, too. And if the VPs also are supposed to have theirs, don't let us forget Ackaah, Aliu, and others as well!!

It is not enough that former presidents and politicians are given ex-gratia, but they have to be given a house too as a parting gift. A country that depends on over half its budgets from foreign donors doesn't see anything wrong with providing politicians with benefits that aren't given in the donor countries.Given all these government largess, no wonder most people are clamoring to be in politics.
