In the USA,the average salary of a doctor is more than a senator/congressman right!!!!.
In Ghana this MPs earn more than 3 times what an average doctor gets. God have mercy on the laborer.

So the speaker of parliament is paid more than the president and yet the present speaker Prof[?]Ocquaye had the audacity to tell Ghanaians that MPS and minsters must be paid more than they receive now.I rest my comment.

It is high time the civil and public servants stand up against the greed, the cheat and corrupt practises of the polical class. The political class should know that one day this would backfire.

(2) Why should each president set up his own damn corrupt commission to determine salaries and pensions for MPs, presidents and others under the so called Article 71 officials?

(3) Why can't we have only one controlling body set up to do this work every four doggone years?

(4) By the way, why should "returning MPs (re-elected MPs)" be included in the END OF SERVICE BENEFITS (ESB)? Somebody should tell me "what service or work did those re-elected MPs finish, thus deserving end of service benefits? And

(5) Why should Ghana pay salaries and offer other benefits to some MPs, who never utter a word in parliament either orally or in writing? What the heck are they doing there, anyway?

# Indeed, we do have a very CORRUPT SYSTEM down there dealing primarily with stealing from the public without much work done. # SEE, why many people want to run to be MPs—to get on the honey cone, too!!

Part time workers of the Electoral Commission ie. Returning Officers, Deputy Returning Officers, Presiding Officers (POs) Verification Officers (VOs) Name List Officers (NLOs) and the Ballot Issuers have not been paid their paltry allowances after working hard to conduct a very peaceful and transparent elections. Please, the trasition team must know this and make due the payment immediately because it was budgeted for before the elections. God Bless.

You could all have chosen to stay out of politics. Politicians should be entitled to normal retirement entitlements at the same age ! And depending on years of service. If politicians will accept that Ghana will respect you.

Its unfortunate the politician do not care about productivity. Soon the doctors will leave and their offices ( in lecture halls, hospital) will be occupied by non professionals for the meagre salary

In this case NDC and NPP both agree,this is the only time they agree and none will cough, greedy fools like Mike Quaye Speaker even wants more.Why won't everyone be willing to go into Politics,it is said to be one of the lucrative careers in Ghana. If really Nana Akufo Addo wants to protect the public purse,he should half all this ridiculous payments just like President of Tanzania John Magufuli did. Teachers are not paid well. The minimum wage of ordinary Ghanaians can't give a better living.
