Mr. Kyei Mensah Bonsu, please whether you were in the minority or not is not the issue. Parliament approved for the former President John Mahama to be housed instead of the rent subsidy.Parliament's work and decisions are based on consensus. Therefore the approval by Parliament to house the former president supersedes all previous decisions and recommendations whether from the Akufo Addo govenment or not. Parliament is the LAW MAKING body and not the Executive headed by Nana Akufo Addo.

One thing u must understand is, that house he want to keep isva state house meant for vice presidents. He was supposed to vacate the place a day before 7th January per the constitution which he did not.
Remember what they did to ex prez Kufuor and Jake O. L.
His keeping that house is more like stealing with authority when in power.
Remember or know that he sent a request to be paid 40% of his salary as rent cost and the later 'Yahya Jammeh' himself for the house he occupied and was supposed to vacate when he was vice prez.

Our candid opinion is Maa'ma shd take the 40% monthly rent allowance and leave the govt bungalow alone. As a matter of fact he, maa'ma, shd not have coveted or demanded it in the first place. He's trying to prove to the ghanaian tax payer whom he's taken for a ride for so long that he's greedy and callous. Upon all his ill-gotten wealth and 100s of trump-tower-like mansions in Accra and around the world dubai inclusive, he's still not satisfied. If he doesn't want the 40% rent allowance, he can forfeit or donate that to the State. After all he's going to live in the wilderness at Bole-bamboi to farm so he won't need a house/office in Accra

Enough is enough, leave this issue alone. The government is wealthy enough to construct a modern official house for the current and future vice presidents. He served Ghana and the constitution grants him such a benefit. What are all these noise for? The idea of monthly rent is stupid and irresponsible. I do not think that the constitution stipulates rent. Mr. Akufo Addo must step in to stop the embarrassment of the former president. At the end of the day the current house is quite old, therefore, a new one for Bawumia is warranted. Mr. Akufo Addo, please tell the nation you will reach a decision and make it public at a later date. Such an intervention will calm the waters and when the dust settles down you tell Ghanaians you have concluded that the ex-president keeps his house.
