The ministries of transports, roads, and railways can all be under one ministry. That is waste of Ghana resources and money.

The previous NPP administration started with the creation of the GRDA, and I can tell you now, that so much developmental work has already been carried out under NDC administration, so it is laudable to see the new NPP administration add some needed innovation to it. A national railway network is undoubtedly vital. The major challenge I see, is linking the proposed northern network with the existing southern lines with Kumasi as the node. The location of Kumasi station would require lots of demolishing of existing infrastructure (houses, roads etc.) unless there are plans to incorporate underground lines, which calls for a major capital works of a first kind in Ghana. You can have the minister for Transport and have a Deputy Minister in charge of Railways development. What about works and Housing and Sanitation. You can combine both and do the same. Some of the positions do not need to be cabinet positions but can work under other existing ministries. The more ministries we have, the less efficient the government becomes. So far, I am not impressed with the new government.
