I don't support a whole ministry for only railways but If this is what will get the sector back in action, then so be it.

Is the new Administration going to create an Aviation Ministry, too? How about Merchant Marines or Water Transport Ministry? We did have Road and Transport Ministry once. As if Road has nothing to do with Transport.

What operational and economic factors justify the creation of such a parochial Ministry? Is it so it can cater for the grossly limited mobility in the President's home area where some people only have the Railway to move around between settlements or link up with the rest of the nation?

Good roads should have long been constructed in those areas, around the Kwaebibirem to facilitate the lives of the residents. The Railway could only go to a few places within the area. It is the roads that could boost economic activities beyond the current levels.

Apart from expanding the Railway system nationwide to ease congestion on the major roads or the Highways, the mere creation of a Ministry for the system won't let the nation benefit most from it.

The Railway industry is such an important and fundamental part of any developed economy that we should scrap what we have now and re-craft a whole new rail system from scratch. A whole new heavy industry should also form the basis of the refurbishment/regeneration of our railways by creating 2 sites at Tarkwa and Konongo to manufacture all the rolling stock we will need instead of importing these from abroad by private/state partnership initiatives to create useful work for all the engineers/technicians our higher institutes of learning are busy churning out! I'm all for this Railway Ministry but please let's hit the ground running with a modern high speed WIDE GAUGE rail system, God willing!!

During Kuffours time there was a similar ministry headed by a whole professor and that was a disaster. Professor Ameyaw Ekumfi displayed a high or ignorant posture in handling of issues there. He totally destroyed or collapse ...

During Kuffours time there was a similar ministry headed by a whole professor and that was a disaster. Professor Ameyaw Ekumfi displayed a high or ignorant posture in handling of issues there. He totally destroyed or collapsed Railway Corporation beyond repairs until JDM came to revive the Takoradi to Kojokrom which even he added a shuttle train to ply that route. So this is a white elephant ministry which will flop big time. I understand JDM and his government had some money if they can use it wisely then it will be fine but I'm afraid of these elements.

Pres Nana is just creating financial lost to the state because he only want to create positions for his people to pay them big monies and their office staffs.
