His request was a follow up on a meeting during which President Nana agreed that it was not a problem to keep it. If Nana has rejected it earlier in their discussion he wouldn't have officially request for it. We must not let politics cloud our judgement. After knowing this official report, why would he want the new Prez to circumvent the recommendation of the Committee? It is unfortunate that this situation has arisen. There is much anger and bitterness in the hearts of the populace because of the raw deal of bad governance meted out to them by the NDC administration. The people feel cheated and exploited by the Mahama government. So for him to turn round to ask for special favours is rather unfortunate. I came back to the country five months ago after being away for about two decades and my observations are rather sad. People have lived in abject poverty and as 'internally enslaved displaced citizens"; while government officials openly exhibited opulent lifestyle. We must pray for forgiveness and reconciliation in the country. I love Ghana and I know you love HER too. Thanks.

Nana Addo did not have the legal authority to approve Mahama's request . He was President elect not President then. Of course Nana Addo wanted power so he was not going say No to Mahama who had the power to relinquish to him. It was Self interest puff. After he assumed power, he then reneged on the prior gentleman's agreement. The suggestion to put the request in writing said it all. We are ok but do not have the legal authority yet. Mahama and his staff knew about the provisions of the Transitional Act. ? Amissah Arthur followed the law? Mahama thought the laws apply to him differently ? That is politicians for you. Finally, Mahama's exposure of Otumfuo's background counsel or mediation is very silly on Mahama's part. Yes Otumfuo has some influence but has no political power. He cannot right illegal wrong. And he wisely suggested withdrawal.
