The bottom line is Mahama knows how to play politics as well. What Mahama did was just to embarrass AA. AA ORALLY or VERBALLY agreed in the presence of the Asantehene that Mahama could live in the home. First of all AA should have said I am not sure what the law is so I will look into it and get back to you. Instead he gave his word despite the law and infront of the Asantehene and now he is quiet because he knows what part he played in this. AA's word should be his bond and now the Asantehene knows him to be a liar. Mahama has basically outsmarted AA in this case. Mahama should not have made the request knowing very well this was against the law but he did anyway and AA failed with his response. Now the Asantehene will have even less faith in AA as he is an NDC fan. The Asantehene's word as we all know is his bond. When he speaks it is done in his kingdom and not so much for AA. Integrity is everything.

I only can help you with this realistic information; The people of the 3 northren regions are called the GUR GROUP which forms 25 percent of the national population.
Further studies can help to know which percentage does each tribe make up of in this part of Ghana.

Secondly, the next Group is called the KWA GROUP, of which we have THE GADANGBE tribes, EWE tribes and the AKAN tribes. The tribes with similarites in their languages called the Akans forms 52 percent and are made up 10 tribes;- the Ahantans, Akwapims, Akwamus, Akyems, Ashantes, Bonos, Fantes, Kwahus, Nzemas, Sefwi.

Thirdly the Gadangbes are made of Gas and the Dangbes which form 9 percent of the population, while the EWE people of the Volta region are made up of 6 tribes and forms 14 percent of the general population.

What is wrong with the Ashantehene getting involved in what you called controversy. This is not controversy, it is just putting things right. Ashantes see every thing in our national political issues as problem because they never have positive minds in handling simple sweet matters.

How long shall we Ghanaians especially Ashantes be seeing everything in politics as litigation and thus termed it fight. It is raw and primitive if these minds continue in our political life. This must stop so that Ghana can move forward.

The mark of a good leader, political, traditional, religious,military etc is the display of a personal moral character which subordinates personal dubious interests to the public interest.The present debate seems to confirm the ''Scratch my back I scratch your back'' situation in our body politic. There used to be a Lebanese trader ''Abua Stores'' in Kumasi who told me a ''moral story'' about a rich man whose only son got involved with a gang and got arrested for armed robbery. The father got the best lawyers to get him freed. The father however disinherited him not because he was guilty but because he had positioned himself in a situation which brought the family name into disrepute. Whether or not it did happen in truth is not the point. We are all not held to the same standards. Some are expected to show greater leadership standards in accordance with their position on the leadership ladder. We have unwittingly brought the whole political architecture into disrepute. We have cheapend the presidency of the country and by extension, politics in the country. Of course this is nothing new. There will always be stomach politicians as we will have such people in other professions also.

What is the reason behind copying the letter to the Asantehene? Mahama is such an objectionable character; no wonder he was kicked out of office by Ghanaians, after being lied to and plundered on a daily basis. Good riddance.

This is really simple. As part of the transition process, AA and Mahama met with the Asantehene. AA asked Mahama where he would live and he asked to stay in the same property. AA agreed to this in the presence of the Asantehene. Now, with people complaining about the arrangement, AA is quiet. The Asantehene now knows AA not to be a man of his word. The bottomline is the law prevents the agreement anyway. Mahama should not have made this request knowing the law the committee passed and AA should just come out and say, I agreed but found out later that the law prevents it but alas AA can't be seen to be making another mistake. His integrity with the chief is shot. Be objective people.

Akufo Addo asked Mahama to put the request into writing. So Nana B, that's how come Mahama copied his withdrawal letter to the Asantehene. Let us be objective, and in all humility, plead with our king to stop involving himself in such matters. At the meeting they discussed other things, some of which may soon come into the public domain. Please, let the Asantehene stop dabbling in such matters.
