Kwesi Pratt needs to get it that not all of us can be president,democracy is expensive,we need to prepare to pay for it. He needs to be talking like adult, he needs to grow up, not joking with serious issues like this.

This problem was NDC'S own creation,they should have kept the Chinery Hesse committee report with only amendments as needed with regards to salaries and leave the rest intact instead of forming another committee that came up with that stupid report that the president needs to rent a house and be paid rent allowance,very dumb idea which brought all these controversies,this should be a lesson to the new government that it is not everything you have to change because it was started by the person or government you don't like.

No state homes are.given to outgoing heads of state. But we come to hipc gh and we seem to not know what we are doing. Look at the amount of bonuses we give to national soccer team players compared to their colleagues in Western nations. Please, this is not sustainable. Being president should be a motivation to SERVE and not to seek for "pecks". Even developed countries with far better economy are not providing accommodation to ex-president.

I do agree with mr .Pratt.Since Presidents A:Mills,and Kuffour did not get a house each from President Mahama,no other President should be given a house by the State.All these Presidents had houses before becoming Presidents.

It makes no sense for soneone like John Mahama, who has so much looted and plundered the state to continue to be supported from the remaining meagre state resources in his retirement. It is beyond comprehension that ordinary workers can acquire their own homes but outgoing presidents, despite their hefty salaries, cannot build or buy their own place of abode. If they already have their own houses why should they want another one from the state?

I humbly appeal to the current government to finish the affordable housing projects started by former president, Kuffour to combat accommodation shortages. The abandoned housing project at Ayigya/Asokore Mampong in Kumasi is not only an eye sore but has become a den for armed-robbers and squatters. The completion of the 1, 2 and 3 bedroom houses will no doubt provide decent accommodation for Civil servants, Doctors and nurses, teachers and other official personnel.
