  Secondly, to show dignity and command respect among nations for the way we value ourselves, a raw commodity.
  
  If you want them to divert some attention to prepare for their after office life, the corruption and mismanagement will increase.
  Every human has the right to a fair housing.
  A happy and focused President will ensure every citizen and even future citizens get this essential.

  May I ask you Mr DIShonesty: where were the presidents living before they became presidents? In gutters or in their homes?
  
  The fact is , before any person could rise to become the president of Ghana, that person had his/her own house /home and that is the same palce he/she should return after the term of office ends.
  
  You cannot tell me they sold their previous houses, so will have to sleep on the streets, if the state does not give them abode.
  
  In USA, the out-going president packs out of White House to their own. In UK, the story is the same: they leave No. 10 Downng Street to their homes, the day their term ends. In Berlin, the story is not different: when your term ends, you pack out of the house of the chancellery to your own home.
  
  
  Tell us: why sould it be different in Ghana??

  Please review the Constitution on this issue and do the needful. I wonder if there is such a lavish post Presidential awards in the developed th world. Why can't Ghana be moderate as all the leaders are touting?

  If we are going to amend the constitution with regard to ex-gratia,lets also amend the section that prevents ex-presidents from working for pay.

  FOR ARTICLE 71 OFFICE HOLDERS IS TOO LAVISH FOR COUNTRY LIKE GHANA; EVEN IN THE US AND THE UK, THEY START PACKING OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE AND 10 DOWNING STREET RSPECTIVELY, A COUPLE OF DAYS TO THE END OF THEIR TERM.

  Greed and materialism on a continent where people so many people don't even have clean drinking water and all the some leaders want is a lavish lifestyle for no work done. Mahama, through corrupt deals has left Ghana with billions of dollars in shady loans to be paid by the poor tax payer. He does not need a reward. Time to live like the poor people he neglected.

Remember that Casely Hayford! Especially since your noble ancestor, J. E. Casely Hayford, was a leading fighter. Shamefully you have associated with a looter party whose antecedents did not even believe in our right to be free and in charge of our affairs!
  
  Your illustrious uncle Archie Casely-Hayford as a Minister in Nkrumah's government helped to acquire and develop some of the old state properties being looted now.
  
  Think about your progressive pedigree and stop associating with "propertied democracy" looters of the peoples properties! NPP under Kufuor sold lots of these properties. We hope there will not be a repeat.

  Ghana should refrain from giving everything to ex -Presidents are after all they are yesterday men /women etc. Instead, Ghana President should allocate money for the refurbishment of all our psychiatric hospitals and rehabilitation centres.The director of Accra Mental hospital has been crying for Govt to invest in the mental health but no one seems to be listening.

  They should be given salary not a lump sum of money, and they must pay taxes like everyone else. The stupid 1992 Accord must be abolished so we can prosecute the bad leaders, and their cronies also.
