It is fruitless to blame the new government of Akufo-Addo; NPP fanatics will tear you a new one for attacking the NPP demigod. What is poisoning about our political system is the power vested in the executive branch that allows expansion of government without oversight authority from a sniped or nutered parliament full of morons we pay dearly to rubber stamp bull crap from above.
Akufo-Addo can expand government and give new life to Kufour era thieves because there are no institutions in Ghana with balls and authority to enforce honesty or government best practices. Remember it was no other than our Supreme Court that paved the way for foolishness when they set themselves up as arresting officers, prosecution, judge and jury in the case of the gang of three who supposedly threatened the courts. In civilized and more cultured societies the highest court of the land are held in high esteem; in Ghana they collect money and ex-gratia to rubber stamp foolishness. The one thing I will grant the Nana Akufo-Addo administration is that it is in good company with the USA which also apparently chose a President willing to give up any values left in America to be popular and so is Nana who is willing to give thieves in the NPP a second chance at stealing to up one over NDC abuses to make the NPP base come home to stay.
