  NanaAkuffo Addo must try and fence the ugly scenes at Ashiaman when driving along the Tema Motorway. Barriers are needs so that it hides those ugly scenes from the public views.

  For example it was reported in the Daily Graphic the gov't of Mauritius was thinking of building an IT enclave of some sort in Accra.
  So you ask yourself, if such a project is to actually take off, does it have to be in Accra? How does gov't policy drive the siting of such a project outside of Accra so as to ensure balanced development?
  How has local gov't policy, trade and investment policy, industry policy, etc, etc been structured, leveraging the uniqueness of the MMDA's to attract such development thus ensuring skills flow and development across the country, instead of its concentration in Accra?
  Balanced development just does not arise from a vacuum. It requires detailed, conscious planned steps taking into account the whole broad spectrum of the inputs and the platform to ensure its operationalization and success driven strongly from the bully pulpit of Central gov't.
  That should be the thrust and focus of this balanced development.
