There are over 75,000 ghost names on Government of Ghana Payroll. In addition, there are over 10,000 names of people on payroll who are not qualified to receive monthly salaries since majority of them are over 60 years and have found their names on NADMO and GES payrolls. The NPP must expunge these names to clean the payroll.

Why will you not be happy.You have got a government which has got its priorities wrong and playing to the gallery for the sake of power.Mahama took the right decision and any right thinking ghanaian knows he took the right decision.That is why the international community respects him.Why should varsity students pay fees and not be paid allowances.Teachers and nurses do not pay fees,get free allowances and when they finish their courses expect the government to give them jobs to do.The cheek of it!!!.

who told you nurses nd teacher trainees dont pay fees, u need to know more before u talk, those in varsities pay not more dan 1600 per year, now ask a nursing student how much he pays twice a year...ur comment is baseless

Where has Nana paid teacher trainee allowances? That allowance alone can lead to the crippling of this government. then come tax reduction e.t.c. It is most likely this government will drag the economy far worse than previous government. The assertion is that money on judgement debt can be used to pay. these trainee allowances alone is running into millions of dollars per month and could lead to a very serious consequences.

Where in the world do you get paid for going to school? Only people without economic foresight would do this. I can subsidize your school fees but not to pay you allowances. How on earth is this possible?
I dont blame them but we would see what happens in the coming months to see as to whether government despite the many challenges this country is facing would be ready to fork out such funds for such an imprudent venture.

My brother let us look at the issue of teacher/nursing trainee allowance beyond politics. What teacher/nursing trainees need is a guaranteed job after completion. understand that University and other training institutions graduates do not get allowance whatsoever yet they are trained to serve the nation after completion. Countries like US, UK and other countries do not pay allowances so why should a poor country like Ghana entertain it? Looking at the unemployment situation in the country, guarantee them a job is the best favour. The payment of allowance is simply not sustainable. Our decisions should be guided by realities and not fantasies.

The restoration of the allowances might seem legal therefore good especially for the recipients. It is only in Ghana that, for a profession which people are scrambling for those who have the privilege of admission must also receive an allowance. To me this is not rational and to i the interest of the state. Such moneys could be properly managed to provide more jobs in the sector for the same people who tomorrow will be picketing at the presidency for jobs.
