  what will a native Ga dangbe do that others cant do if apointed mdce? what contribution has native ga dangbe ppl made that others havent made towards the growth of accra. take away the nice houses owned by non-ga adangbes, take away the govt institutions and see if your slums such as chokor, james town, teshie nungua, etc can make a capital city. anyone born and raised in accra is a native of accra; accra is his/her hometown, check the meaning of hometown in english dictionary. if an akan, northerner or ewe was born and raised, lives and works and owns a house in accra and can't be appointed dce or mce in accra where else could the person be appointed? some of you Gas fool waaa!!

  i worked hard to buy my house in accra, the house and it's plot of land belong to me and my kids, i pay property tax every yr to the AMA. fools like you continue to live in slums and contribute no tax to AMA. if you think you're the owners of the land then build good houses on it for yourself and all Gas, land is a natural creation, houses are human made, make modern houses on the lands u got through no efforts. when your corrupt chiefs and family heads sell lands at neck breaking cost to multiple buyers at same time who do you idiot think gradually become the owners of the Ga land? No well meaning modern Ga will insist only Gas appointed MMDCEs.

I'm not from Ashanti, but I like the Ashantis; they are just like the English people - they welcome everyone. No wonder it is only in Kumasi that you will find Fantehene, Anlogahene, Dagombahene, Dargartihene; Accra Town, Tema, Anloga, Fanti New Town etc etc etc. Long live Ashantis.

  This is nonsense. What is required is that competent persons should be appointed as MCEs,DCEs etc . Tribal appointments would be retrogressive and dangerous.

  I see this issue becoming bigger and bigger and if not managed will destroy peace in Accra. This goes deeper than appointments. It’s the influx of so many people into Accra that have very little regard to the language and culture of the indigenous people of Accra that is the real problem. Unfortunately Africans aren’t great at empathising with our own when we are hurting them until the victims rise up in violence then we take note. Any civilised country manages ethnic balances carefully because nothing destroys peace faster than when a group feel marginalised, especially on their own traditional land. Owning a home in Accra on leased land does not make you overload. Let’s learn to respect each other’s cultures and the hospitality and generosity some of you take for granted.
