It appears the boy's family panicked and didn't want to notify the girl's family which took precious time for any emergency aid to be given her; after all the gun was not aimed at her upper body and something could have been done to save her.

The police however will have a clear idea of what happened and if several shots were fired then how can they plead it was an accident. Was the young lady pregnant? Is it a coincidence all 10 bullets went to her abdomen? The family of the boy appear to have focused on getting their child off without an once of sympathy for the family of the girl. It looks like even whilst she was in hospital they focused on their boy rather than the dying girl. It's not good to speculate but we need a police force which is fair and not a force which looks after the one who has paid
