An invasion? Only Africa – we have dictators all around the world. An invasion will be illegal and not in line with UN provisions which uphold the sovereignty of individual nations. Let Gambia and its people deal with its governance problems. Outsiders should be able to adopt diplomatic measures, not military action unless authorized by the UN. Recognition of national sovereignty is the reason we have dictators are in power all over the world until they die off.
What will happen -- kill off Jammeh and his soldiers to ensure long-lasting peace OR AU/ECOWAS will stay in Gambia permanently to ensure peace and security of Barrow’s government? The outcomes of an invasion will not be sustainable. Besides it will set a very bad precedence in relation to national sovereignty.
