We need a nitch 10 year plan than 40 year old one. On the many 5 -10 year plans we have drafted, which of them was achieved completely? Let alone 40 years.

China, Germany, USA can have 1000- year plans because they have stable economies. In Germany, sometimes, prices FALL to the extent that the government will have to jump in to warn the supermakets. Can such a thing happen in Ghana? Even sometimes a plane ticket costs less that a carton of beer. Osafo-Marfo is very, very right.

I support Mr Yaw Osafo Marfo with the 10 year development plan as suggested,because of the exigencies of the world economies.We are not on an Island of our own,and since we depend by and large,on the world economies we need to ensure that, the Devt,plan drawn by our economists match hand in hand with the worlds economies else,our plan would be in the long run run into a ship wreck.It is sad to say that,NDC economists do not seem to have the requisite experiences to Govern a Nation like Ghana for rapid economic development,and What they obviously know is only to counsel their president to embark on unplanned structural developments for political expediency.They should therfore under study the NPP the manner of governance they put in place to drive the country,s economy to a succesful conclusion,despite the fact that,they claim to be social democrts

What Osafo Marfo said needs to be looked at again by Ghanaians. The long term plans are blueprints into which short term and medium term plans are fitted. These therefore serve as guidelines which every goverment would be guided by to develop countries, whether infrastructural or economic or financial. Based on how these long term plans guide manifestos and short and or medium term plans, will determine how much a nation progresses. Then also governments will not come and do their own thing. We will have an NDPC which will guide short and medium term plans implementation.

In the 18th century maybe, but in a dynamic and volatile world we live in today, even ten years is way to long. Gone are the days of Soviet era 40/50 years development plans.

Everybody in Ghana here know that the sarfo maafos are from Akyem awisa in the eastern region but Dr. Kwakye maafo, Snr brother to sarfo maafo is now the chief of Assin nsuta in the central region. He is no where near the royal bloodline but he used his influence and money to bully the rightful owners of the stool of assin nsuta and even threatened the apparent heir to the throne and he went to exile. What Kwaakye maafo does best in that little village is selling of the stool lands for his own gain.I wish a journalist on this platform would pick this up and do more investigation so that the stool will be restored to the rightful owners

In fact it would be better to have 5-year rolling plans. There's not a single western country with even a 10-year plan. It is expensive because nothing in it will be valid in 4 -5 years. Imagine such a plan 100 years ago when there were not even cars.
