Pratt even recommended Baako to be killed by the regime, thank God Baako was instead touchered violently and severely but his life was spared. This is what Kwesi Pratt can do. This man has created many dollar millionaires during the period that he was a top politician. His family is one of the richest, some have private jets. This explains why he is being rewarded this way by people who have benefited from his reckless spending creating huge debt for future generations to deal with. Old 'important' people like the kings and people in high positions have benefited while women and children continue to suffer. We must shake off the slave mentality and stand up against these politicians. The people our hard work gave them free education are now treating us like slaves just as the colonial masters did.

When they go on retirement after 30 or more years, the receive peanut as end of service benefit and also receive tiny amount of money monthly. No one cares about the rest of their days on earth. Some die early because of financial issues. But here we are politicians are given huge amount after just 4 years of serving the nation. These politicians are not better than someone who have serve in the civil service for over 30 yrs yet no better end of service emolument for them.we need to overhaul our system and create fairness for every civil servant in the country.

For one man, just because he was ever a president of the country, even for only one term, he is showered with all these many and huge 'rewards'! For such an impoverished country, where pupils are still attending classes under trees, to give so much of the country's resources to one man alone! By what stretch of the imagination does that man deserve all this wanton dissipation of national resources on him alone! Is he worth even four hardworking cocoa farmers put together!

Is this justified or reasonable, morally or patriotically? What signals does this robbery of the national treasury send to the ordinary folks! The actual hardworking men and women of the country - the fishermen, the farmers, the labourers, the load-carriers etc - do not count at all in the calculations of the leaders! It's all about and for them alone: the greedy, good-for-nothing bastards who occupy the top of the society! They produce nothing, they make no good policies, they are not capable of creativity and innovation in either policy-making or governance! Yet they take it all!

The package given to that man does not at all reflect the impoverished circumstances the nation is in now! How can the leaders call for collective orientation from the populace when they carry out this hugely lopsided distribution of the resources!

The common man - worker, farmer, labourer, soldier, police officer, teacher, etc - must be a fool if he or she doesn't find a way, either by corruption or naked stealing or whatever, to take his share from the national treasury! In such society only a fool will vote in elections! The day the common people will see that their enemies are not the other tribes but the elite in government, in politics, in chieftaincy etc, that will be the beginning of their liberation!

If you think $72,000/yr is so much then consider that a taxi driver in any major city in the USA (NY, Atlanta, Denver, Chicago, Dallas, etc.) makes more than that every year.

Do you honestly think you'd be president one day and be happy with being paid less than a taxi driver in the USA? No, you'd steal even if you love your country.

The security additions and offices, etc are just fluff, they don't mean jack.

We need to seriously think about putting in better packages for these guys as incentive so they can stop stealing from us (at least the good ones with some conscience).

May I know if this is the last of its kind? Please those of us who does not actually understand the terms and conditions should not try to educate me by confusing me the more.
I do cherish how we are taking interest in the affairs of mother Ghana of late but, can we do ourselves favour by doing so without insults? Let's not keep doing so and extends it to the current and subsequent presidents.
