Joe Wise should continue to exercise his authority so stupid nonentities do not soil the hard won reputation of appointees just be throwing out false allegations. It would have been better if the chairman had allowed the questions to be asked for the nominee to answer. Ghana first, the chairman must know. His action as complained by others too does not speak well of him as it would be documented. The nominee could have answered the question to show he had clean hands.

Whats even the motive of the vetting in the first place ? i believe is to be sure the designate knows about the portfolio he is going to handle and to clear him/her from any scandal whether true or rumor. The chairman didn't allow the minister clear himself which i believe is wrong. Vetting is not witch hunting and relevant issues like scandals should tackled to the root to clear members who are going to be paid by you and me, who are the tax payers.

This is very sad indeed. The essence of vetting of ministerial nominees by the Appointments committee is to enable Parliament and Ghanaians determine the suitability or otherwise of the nominees. The c'ttee members do this thru questioning. It is for the chairman to be fair and firm in his rulings without being seen as dictatorial. It is for the opposition to have their say and govt to have its way and NPP has the numbers at plenary to get all nominees thru. There must be concensus and goodwill among MPs for nation-building. There should be no more rubber stamping by our current parliament. Never again.

This is very unprofessional and never acceptable that a chairman of a committee behaves in this manner is he is supported by his folks.
