  Ashietey hasn't done anything worthwhile for his constituency nor the Greater Accra Regional NPP. Instead he has sown seeds of discord where none existed and shown arrant disrespect for the National Executives.
  
  For all the 12 years that he represented Tema East Constituency in Parliament, Ashietey took advantage of the hardworking but simple-minded natives of which he is one, and cheated them out of development projects by colluding with unscrupulous contractors to pocket funds. He also never contributed in any way shape or form to the growth of the Party even though Kuffour gave him the opportunity to do so by appointing him to ministerial positions despite the fact that Ashitey proved corrupt and incapable on all occasions. The largest financial malfeasance in the history of Local Government, as echoed by even then Minister of Local Government Effah-Dartey, was orchestrated by Ashitey at the Tema Metropolitan Assembly in 2000.You may confirm this from the Party members. That the Party did well in the Region in the recent elections is more due to the character and the hard work of the candidates themselves.
  
  Finally Ashitey has the habit of wrecking families and homes with his ill-gotten wealth by enticing married but impressionable-minded women. Some people may regard this as personal but what are we teaching the youth? Further, this type of behavior tears down our cleverly and painstakingly woven social fabric which over time becomes a national problem.
  
  Nana, you have no business appointing such a person into any public office unless you're of the same cloth or you want the public to have the same perception about you. Fortunately I don't think you want that. The earlier you rescinded this man's appointment, the better it would be for you and the country.
