I honestly think that it might have been a good idea to put in Assifuah for Gyan. Yiadom did well. I think he actually earned a starting spot. He is not a big overlapper but he is probably a better defender than Afful.

I thought Tetteh showed some glimpses of what he can be. He was a little nervous.
It is hard to judge Tekpetey. He was in a bit of a rushed situation. I think if he came in earlier he would have been more patient.
My position is that putting these players in against Egypt was actually a confidence builder. We all wish they would have won but I suspect that there will be some long term benefits to this. This is a transition period. We will probably lose in the quarterfinals anyway so why not take some chances. Taking some risk might lead to some surprises. DR Congo is a strong side but they make mistakes here and there on defense. Anything can happen.
