I am disappointed with the GH MPs. Were they not brought up in Africa to ignore the well know expression that 'It's better to prevent than cure'. ECOWAS is here to prevent wars not only to intervene.

This is one thing we must commend the ECOWAS for. I wish we had done similarly in the Ivorian situation. I guess, however, that we didn't do so because the presence of the French in the Ivorian conflict was too deep.

You are right, I think something is wrong with our people, it was clear Jammeh lost the election and conceded defeat from day one only to make a U-Turn after a second thought, in the Ivorian situation too I agree but that one Gbagbo refused from day one to accept defeat and used the constitutional court to overturned the results which made the whole situation very complex leading to the war, there was little they could do.
My NDC people should not criticize everything just for the sake of it,the decision to send troops there if mediation failed was a strategy that President Mahama was deeply involved and already in place before President Akuffo Addo who never attended any of those meetings took power,this Suhuyini guy needs to slow down and seek information before going public,that discussion was not even necessary,Ghanaians have a lot not going on well in their lives which parliament should be talking about but not an issue that has already been resolved.

With their bereaucracy couple with ignorance no president will wait for that parliament for approval to deploy troops in an emergency, a lot of them in parliament especially those new ones don't even know what is going on in the world to be taken seriously by any serious government when it comes to defense matters.

They should give us a break.

If any Election is disputed by an incumbent that is supposed to have lost, it would be untenable to handover to the opposition that won before going to the Court to contest. Psychologically, it could harm the negotiating environment, if a newly-installed President were to be forced to relinquish the Presidential throne, upon a revised Election results at the Courts.

The best situation would be for the incumbent to hand over the reins of Government to a Transitional group either designated by the Council of State or the courts, with the incumbent Cabinet also handing over to the respective Principal Secretaries at the various Ministries.

You lose an election as an incumbent, the results are declared that you lost pootoorrrr and immediately you make a quick turnaround on account of the fact that reconciliation of the data, changes the percentages which does not materially affect, indeed, does not makes any dent in your heavy losing margin and based on that, call for fresh elections because you fill in your head and your head alone, you won.
And you expect the validly elected, legitimately elected candidate who whipped you so heavily through the exercising of the democratic right of the people, to stand there and watch and for ECOWAS to support your irresponsibility in The Gambia there?
And Suhuyini is questioning the protocols of ECOWAS and the AU in such matters of which Ghana is a signatory?
The downward spiral of the NDC seems to have seen a huge boost and the injection of new energy with the obtuse rantings of the likes of this Suhuyini character. They have gone completely off the rails.

We are greatful the ECOWAS joint force which drove out the dictator and tyrant from the country.
