I am baffled as to why Volta, BA, Western and Northern? I mean why not Eastern and Ashanti? Aren't these 2 some of the most populous places? Why not split Ashanti? Is it fair to say it is in the interest of the ruling party to keep those together. Stop pulling the wool over our eyes and just admit that you are playing politics with us. I do not trust that the intent behind is to speed up development. Why does one need to split regions in order to develop them? This is just another case of jobs for the boys and the waste of resources. I mean why create all these nonsense ministries and then take deputies as well? Wouldn't it be financially prudent to have transport and designate specific deputies?

the Asante region has already been divided. This was in 1959 when the Brong Ahafo region was created out of it

Why don't you spilt your stronghold, Ashanti region into 2 or 3 regions first and see what happens; you want to weaken the strongholds of the other parties.

Go to northern region u will realise development is centered on Tamale the capital and the rest are lacking behind. All these are contributing factors for rural urban migration making the cities choked with slams. let's for once look at things differently devoid of politics.

Whatever could be done to break the Volta region has always been on the minds of the NPP for the longest time. This divide and rule tactics is a story in the books and it is well known. Why are they no proposing to breakup Ashanti region, after all it has a bigger population than the Volta region. Fool yourself Nana Addo, don't think everyone is a fool.

There is absolutely no need for the creation of 4 new regions.
In Dan Botwe's presentation during his vetting the Upper West region came up as an example where the point was made that poverty levels in the Upper West were very high and according to data from the Statistical service, with the exception of Wa which is the capital Wa, much of the region had not seen any appreciable development and reaped the benefits or the impact of poverty eradication objectives.
Abayifaa Karbo asked a very brilliant question which was followed up by Mahama Ayariga where the point was made that about 30 years ago, the Upper West Region was created based on the same argument being made today that, poverty levels were high. The fallacy of that argument for the creation of the new region citing Upper West for example was made the more clear when Mahama Ayariga made the point that in the case of Wa, the siting of UDS i.e the University of Development Studies in Wa, created the basic architecture around which the development of Wa was made possible considering the other districts in the region.
It does show it is not necessarily the creation of regions that addresses the issue of poverty and rapid development. It is therefore important the whole concept of the creation of regions is looked at again and the critical issues for which there is still poverty and lack of development is examined thoroughly. Because it is looking more and more like a rather very simplistic view and approach to solving the issues of underdevelopment and poverty. Granted there might be a region that there could be the need to create another region out of, creating 4 new administrative regions to aid development is an academic exercise at best. That is not what will solve the issues of lack of development and endemic poverty.
