Agyarkogate should be investigated by an independent body. There is a perception out there among the citizens of this country that the august and honorable assembly of representatives have in the past engaged in corrupt practices in approving the sale of Ghana Telecom and the acquisition of loans. PC Ofori-Appiah, Martin Amidu have all accused Parliament of corruption. If the executive under Akufo-Addo does not heed the call of the citizens of Ghana to set up an investigation into AGYARKOGATE, independent of Parliament, then he can kiss his own credibility in the eyes of the public goodbye.`

Whichever way Parliament decide to handle the bribery scandal, whether via a special committee or an existing committee, they will bury the truth! What they will produce, instead, will be a 'political truth', whichever is a devilish, corrupt kind of truth that is 'I scratch your back and your scratch mine' ploy! The purpose of the 'political truth' will be not only to protect their own interests as Parliament but also to throw dust into the eyes of the people!

When the corrupt investigate themselves, the outcome is a forgone conclusion - corrupt!

The malady of Ghana's democracy is that its praticioners are notoriously corrupt; they have hijacked the governance and the governance system for their personal gain! It's they, the leadership in all the arms of government, who don't believe in the democratic system of governance. For them, it's a convenient tool and legitimate ploy to keep themselves up in power and wealth and keep the masses down in weakness and poverty!
