2. Not everybody does national service in Ghana. Anyone who is 40 years and above(which Otiko Dzaba is) is EXEMPT from doing national service. Even if she is below 40 years, she can do the national service any time she chooses. The law does not say you MUST do national service IMMEDIATELY after cokppetung your degree course.She can write to NSS for exemption and within 2 days that will be granted.
You people should give us a break. Otiko Dzaba is approved by majority vote and she will be a minister in Ghana.

The classfmonline journalist who filed the piece was simply being mischievous. Yes, lying under oath is serious but since the question shouldn't have been allowed in the first place because it was immaterial to her prospective job, she should be given a pass. However it was the fact that she didn't do her National Service that should've alerted the President against submitting her name for consideration. Maybe the President didn't know about it or he did but decided to take a chance. Whatever it was, it was a bad choice because National Service is a patriotic duty from which none is exempted and rightly so. Exempting anybody not under extraordinary circumstances, especially a potential Minister of State, sends a wrong message to the whole nation. It's a perfect reason for her rejection--and indeed for anybody.

The President, with all due respect, made a bad decision by nominating Ms. Djaba. The minority is right in not endorsing her. He should respectfully withdraw her name.
